SELMA BOCHNEK SPLASH PAD
This Splash Pad is named in honour of Selma Bochnek, an individual who has contributed remarkably to the City of Belleville Community. The extent of her involvement is extraordinary. Selma has been a dedicated Community Volunteer since 1965 and was a City of Belleville Councillor for 25 years. As a Community Volunteer she demonstrated extraordinary commitment to establish the Christmas Sharing Program, Volunteer and Information Quinte and Quinte Destination for Youth Organization.
Mrs. Bochnek has volunteered with the Belleville General Hospital Auxiliary and the Quinte Health Care Board for five decades. She has also been active volunteer member in the Parkdale Ratepayers Association, a Board Member with the Hastings and Prince Edward Children's Aid Society and the Quinte Ethnic Council.
While on Belleville City Council Selma was a respected and able Councillor. She served in many capacities such as Chair of the Board of Parks Management, the Founding Chair of Belleville Waterfront Festival, the Chair of the Belleville Library, and the Library Building Committee, the Council Liaison for the Parks and Recreation Department and Chair of the City of Belleville Canada Day Committee.
